Scholarship Criteria

Marathon’s Michigan Refining Division in Detroit is offering scholarships for students living in the city of Detroit and pursuing a Process Technology Certificate from Wayne County Community College District or Henry Ford Community College.

PROCESS TECHNOLOGY CERTIFICATE COURSE WORK

  • Safety, Health & Environment
  • Introduction to Process Technology
  • Industrial Applications of Basic Math Principles
  • Applied Science (Chemistry & Physics)
  • Process Instrumentation


General selection criteria are as follows:
1.  Academic Qualification:  Must present a High School Diploma or GED
2. Resident Status: Must be a city of Detroit resident
3. Foundational Skills: Completion of assessment
4. References: Three letters describing your qualifications
5. Grade Requirement: Must maintain a “B” average


Application Requirements:

  • Confirmation of Detroit residency
  • Valid High School diploma or GED
  • Documentation of Foundational Learning Skills Assessment
  • A letter indicating your interest in, and willingness to commit to, the academic requirements of the PTEC Program
  • Three written letters of reference
