July 9, 2008, Marathon Petroleum Company LLC would like to thank the almost 1,600 people who attended the Construction Trade Opportunity Event on May 22 at Cobo Center. Marathon also thanks its partners – Detroit Workforce Development Department, and the Michigan Building and Construction Trades Council – who helped make the event a success.
Attendees met with business representatives and training coordinators from 13 construction trade unions. Representatives from the Detroit-area vocational schools were also present to meet prospective applicants who may need to acquire additional education in order to be considered for the Marathon project and other construction projects in Detroit.
