Marathon Board Approves Detroit HOUP

October 31, 2007 – Marathon’s board of directors approved an estimated $1.9 billion expansion and heavy oil upgrade project at its Detroit refinery. The project will create an estimated 135 new jobs at Michigan’s only oil refinery, generate hundreds of construction jobs and increase transportation fuels for Michigan.
