Detroit’s Buildings & Safety Engineering Department Approves Conditional Use Application for Expansion Site
Dec. 11, 2007 – The City of Detroit’s Building and Safety Engineering Department (BS&E) has approved Marathon Petroleum Company’s conditional use application for the expansion site at its Detroit refinery. The department concluded that the project is consistent with the zoning ordinance in the area and would not adversely affect the surrounding land use and development. In addition, the BS&E said that Marathon has provided “documented evidence of meeting or exceeding environmental standards.”
