Construction on the refinery portion of the Detroit HOUP began in June of 2008 and completion is expected in the fourth quarter of 2010. Modifications at the refinery will provide construction employment for an average of 800 workers per day, peaking at 1,200 workers during the two and a half year construction period. In addition, pipeline construction will create hundreds of jobs for the four to six month construction period.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, reliable transportation, able to conduct physical labor and be proficient in English.
